The motto of the pilgrimage "Pilgrims of Hope"
PILGRIM'S GUIDE
Pilgrimage is a natural need of a believer who is fully aware that earthly life on earth is only a temporary stay on the journey to the home of the Heavenly Father. Pilgrimage is therefore an effort consciously undertaken as a sacrifice to God. Pilgrimage is not a trip. If someone decides to become a pilgrim, they must become aware of its religious nature and accept the norms of conduct proper to pilgrimage.
1. Youth under 18 have a special task: they are to take an adult with them on the pilgrimage route and participate in the pilgrimage under their care. This can be done with the knowledge and consent of parents or guardians confirmed by written permission. Youth under 18 are exempt from the obligation to agitate adults but must obtain written consent to the pilgrimage from their parents or guardians.
2. Each pilgrim gladly and gratefully obeys the instructions of traffic managers dressed in reflective vests.
3. During the march, especially on roads with heavy traffic, one should walk alone and as close as possible to the LEFT edge of the roadside (OPP instructions).
4. As part of the payment mortification, pilgrims leave their private cars at home and also give up the company of non-payers. The pilgrim is accompanied only by cars for servicing the pilgrimage, engaged by the organizers (OPP requirement).
5. We pay attention to clothing, which should be adapted to the idea of the pilgrimage. All graphic signs, slogans, images worn on T-shirts and symbols in the form of necklaces, earrings, etc. that contradict the values proclaimed by the Gospel are prohibited.
6. During the march, we take care of our own health and the health of our neighbors and therefore fill our lungs with clean air. There is a total ban on smoking during the march and at the rest stops, smokers should not disturb non-smokers.
7. All pilgrims are obliged to observe healthy abstinence and therefore it is prohibited to store and consume any alcoholic beverages.
8. Pitching tents at the overnight accommodations is only possible in places designated by the organizers.
9. We advise people not participating in the pilgrimage not to visit the overnight accommodations. There is no such option in the pilgrimage program.
10. Only married couples after a church wedding may spend the night in a shared tent, other co-education is not an option.
11. Night silence is a time of rest, night relaxation and gathering strength for the next day. It lasts from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day.
12. A joyful privilege and blessing of every pilgrim is active participation in morning masses, conferences and all prayer meetings.
13. Before leaving the accommodation, each pilgrim leaves behind the best possible testimony and therefore willingly and without admonition cleans his place of camp. Maintaining cleanliness at the stopping places and in the toilets has its own specific meaning here. It depends on our culture whether the hosts of the area agree to accept the pilgrimage next year.
The above regulations apply this year from the Holy Mass for the payment on Monday, August 7, to the solemn Holy Mass on Sunday, August 13. Failure to comply with the regulations may result in the participant being removed from the pilgrimage.
